Pro Football Focus reviews the 2017 matchup with Hawaii
When Colorado State faced off with Hawaii on the road in 2017, the Rams handily won the ball game 51-21 last September. Obviously much about both of these teams have changed in 2018, as both programs had serious roster turnover and have brought in a variety of new coaches for this season.
According to Pro Football Focus though, when these teams played last season, Hawaii got absolutely torched through the air. CSU's offensive grades against Hawaii last season were the following: Total offense (93.7), passing grade (92.2) and receiving grade (95.2). All three of these performances were season-high grades for the Rams and that is really saying something, considering CSU had one of the most explosive offensive units in the country on a weekly basis.
In total, Nick Stevens completed 18-of-22 pass attempts, finishing the 30-point victory with 351 yards and four passing touchdowns in the 2017 matchup. On the outside, Michael Gallup finished with eight catches, 212 receiving yards and one touchdown. Detrich Clark finished with two catches, both of which went for touchdowns and tight end Dalton Fackrell had one touchdown reception as well.
