CSU wide receivers named to Biletnikoff Award watch list
Olabisi Johnson and Preston Williams have each been named to the Biletnikoff Award watch list. Presented by Tallahassee Quarterback Club Foundation, Inc., (TQC), the award is annually bestowed to the season’s most outstanding receiver, regardless of position.
If there has been a bright spot for Colorado State football during the 1-4 start to the season, it has been the production from the starting wide receivers.
In his fourth season in the offense, Johnson already has 29 receptions and four touchdown receptions. The senior wide receiver has averaged 15 yards per reception and and is closing in on his career-best total of 41 catches from 2017. Johnson is also second on the team with 436 receiving yards through the nonconference portion of the season.
On the other side of the field, Williams has been extremely productive in his first five games as a member of CSU football. Williams leads the Rams in total receptions (39) and receiving yards (511). The SEC transfer has four touchdowns as well.
Johnson and Williams are not the first CSU players to catch the attention of the TQC. Under wide receivers coach Alvis Whitted, Rashard Higgins (2015) and Michael Gallup (2017) have each been named finalists for the award in previous seasons.
