3-star Georgia cornerback picks CSU over Pittsburgh and South Carolina

Colorado State football has secured another defensive back for its 2019 recruiting class.

On Monday, cornerback Dequanteous Watts out of Maynard Jackson High School in Atlanta, GA., announced his commitment to the Rams on Twitter. In the posting, Maynard thanked the 40+ schools that offered him an opportunity to continue his playing career, while also announcing that he intends to reach the NFL.

According to 247Sports, Watts is a 3-star prospect and has offers from every major conference. In 2018, Watts had 54 total tackles, six interceptions and 19 interceptions.

Watts will be joining Brandon Crossley (Texas), Keevan Bailey (Georgia), Caleb Blake (Florida), Xavier Goldsmith (Michigan) and Andre Neal* (California) as the six defensive backs in CSU’s 2019 signing class.

Along with Watts in the secondary, head coach Mike Bobo also added depth to the defensive line on Monday with the signing of Arizona State graduate transfer Jalen Bates.
