CSU signs two running backs, including the nation's leading rusher

Christian Hunter, a 2-star running back out of Kaiser High School in Fontana, Calif., signed with Colorado State on Wednesday.

Despite only being listed at 6’0”, 190 pounds, Hunter led the nation with 3,839 rushing yards and recorded 55 rushing touchdowns during his senior season. According to 247Sports, Hunter also held offers from Brigham Young University, Northern Arizona, San Diego State and Wyoming.

Hunter is one of two running backs that have signed so far. Tyreese Jackson, a 3-star running back out of Westgate High School in New Iberia LA., also put pen to paper on National Signing Day. Jackson rushed for 776 yards over two seasons and totaled eight rushing touchdowns. According to 247Sports, Jackson held 14 Division 1 offers, including Houston, Kansas, Memphis, West Virginia and Utah State.

In December, Mike Bobo said that he was looking to add at least two running backs to the 2019 signing class. The coaching staff has accomplished this and still has a few open scholarships remaining.
