Nico Carvacho will test NBA Draft waters
Heading into his senior season, Nico Carvacho has declared for the 2019 NBA Draft. Carvacho announced the news on Twitter Monday morning.
Although Carvacho has declared for the NBA Draft, at this point, the 6’11” big man is still planning on maintaining his eligibility and returning for the 2019-20 season. The process will allow him to work with NBA scouts and receive feedback on his game as he prepares for a future pro career.
According to the policy changes implemented in 2018, Carvacho may hire an agent, so long as that individual is certified by both the NBPA and NCAA. It is unknown at this time if the “Big Chile” will choose to do so.
Carvacho has until May. 29 to officially withdraw his name from the NBA Draft and still be able to return to CSU. Assuming that he does, Carvacho will be one of the frontrunners for Mountain West Player of the Year. As a junior, Carvacho averaged 16.1 points and 12.9 rebounds in 31.9 points per game.
