Hunter Peifer named MW Defensive Player of the Week

After giving up only one goal in 220 minutes of action between the Colorado State women's soccer team's first two games over the weekend, redshirt junior goalkeeper Hunter Peifer was the Mountain West Defensive Player of the Week, the conference announced Monday.

Peifer finished the weekend 0-0-2 with a 0.41 goals-against average, 15 saves and a .938 save percentage. The Colorado Springs, Colo., native was in net for all 220 minutes for the Rams' double-overtime draws at Colorado and at Denver.
This marks the first-ever Mountain West Defensive Player of the Week honor in program history, and the second weekly conference honor for a Colorado State student-athlete overall. Last season, forward Ally Murphy-Pauletto became the first to receive a weekly conference accolade when she was named the Sept. 4, 2017 Mountain West Offensive Player of the Week.
The Colorado State women's soccer team hosts Northern Colorado in its first home game on Thursday. Kickoff is slated for 4 p.m. MT from CSU Soccer Field.
