Beth Plentl named MW Player of the Week

Colorado State senior midfielder Beth Plentl was named Mountain West Offensive Player of the Week, league offices announced Monday. Plentl scored in Sunday’s victory over SMU.

CSU is one of three teams in the Mountain West to have a player named Offensive POW and Defensive POW this season (Nevada and UNLV). Senior goalkeeper Hunter Peifer was named Defensive Player of the Week earlier this year.

Plentl’s second half, go-ahead goal over SMU came in the 73rd minute and allowed the Rams to secure the program’s best nonconference record (3-3-2) in a single season in the program's six-year history.

The Colorado State women's soccer team opens Mountain West play this Friday at New Mexico. Kickoff is slated for 7:30 p.m. MT from the UNM Soccer Complex.
