Hougaard-Jensen named MW Player of the Week

Following a pair of victories over the weekend, Paulina Hougaard-Jensen was named the Mountain West Offensive Player of the Week by the conference office Monday. The offensive weekly honor is the first of Hougaard-Jensen’s career. She was previously named MW Defensive Player of the Week.

In CSU’s sweeps over Boise State and Utah State, Hougaard-Jensen totalled 27 kills, while hitting at a .556 pace. In the two victories, the junior committed only two errors in 45 attempts. On the defensive end, Hougaard-Jensen also paced CSU with seven blocks.

CSU volleyball will travel this week for matches at New Mexico and UNLV. The Rams are currently riding a three-game winning streak, but the team is 0-2 in its last two matches away from Moby Arena. There is reason for CSU to feel confident though. In its last 12 matches against the Lobos, the Rams are 11-1.
